Not only will it look much shorter, you might not like it as much as you did before. When you layer the hair in a bob cut, the layers will make it look thinner and less frizzy. If you have problems with frizzy hair you can always buy anti-frizz shampoo and conditioners. They even have products you can spray in your hair to help with the frizz control.
With curly hair you can always leave it naturally curled or you can always straighten it with a flat iron. Not only is this a completely different look, you might shock people who are used to seeing you with curly hair but it also takes a long time to straighten the hair and only takes a little bit of water on the hair before it goes back to being curly.
