Women usually wear black blouses and sometimes white and other colors as well. Most men that wear the dress shirts are business men of some kind or a professional with a job. The black shirts are usually accompanied by a tie to help out the look of the shirt. If you have on just a plain black shirt with no tie, then you might consider buying a tie to go with the shirt.
It all really depends on the situation that the shirt is required for. If you are going to work and your work isn’t that formal then you can get away with just a shirt and no tie. If you are going to a wedding or a nice event, then you will want a tie. Most salesmen this day wear a tie with their shirts. I might recommend a red tie with the black dress shirts. This will look the best overall in my opinion. You might ask a female friend what she recommends. They usually have the best eye. I don’t just mean find any female and ask, find one that has a wonderful sense of color and coordination. I have had to ask a few female friends to help me find what is right to go with black dress shirts. Whatever it is that you are going to, just make sure you look good and get another woman’s opinion besides your mothers. Not that hers isn’t valid, but you want someone who’s neutral and not attached to you.
