Hairstyle & Haircut Collection by Tonia Burgess

The ‘60

When we talk about the ’60, we all remember The Beatles and the President John Kennedy and wife Jacqueline, who set the trend at that time. Since she was wearing her hair with a medium length, touching her shoulders and she was the adept of a decent look, the ones who weren’t attracted by rebellion in general, followed her example. But these years meant a lot of fashion and hairstyle changes!

The ’60 meant a real mixture of styles and sometimes resulted in pleasant or weird combinations, and as an example, we could take the flips, very popular at that time. The poodle haircut was absolutely deleted, and it was replaced with a hairstyle know as “I love Lucy”. Although its name was quite weird, the haircut itself was pretty nice. Innocence and power were the main concepts that were passing through your mind when you were seeing this look. Actually, it was the most famous hairstyle between the women who militated for the Feminism or for those who wanted to show that they were more than sweet girls.

And as for the boys…Do you know the phrase:”Is it a Boy or a Girl?” Well, it seems that it comes from the ’60, when the boys’ hair was growing up very fast and sometimes it was very long, so the adults had the tendency to confuse some boys with girls. Maybe this is the reason why in the ’70-’80, the hippie appeared! The ladies, especially the rich ones, had a passion for a certain hairstyle, know as the bubble.

It was nothing but a modern version of the bouffant hairstyle, but it won a lot of field in the ’60. If you are wondering why, the answer is quite simple. It was thought that the bigger the bubble it was, the slimmer the woman would look! That’s why the hair salons were full of sophisticated women who wanted to have an elegant look and a thin aspect. And if you had a blonde hair too, you had all the chanced to be considered a very sexy woman!

But the bubble was only one of the most popular hairstyles between women. Another one was the beehive, which is was quite simple to do and it had a long maintenance. That’s why it was adopted by practical but elegant women, who wanted to take care of their businesses, but to look fashionable too. Actually, for two or three years it was a “must have” regarding the hairdos in that time.

The oddity in the ’60 concerning the hairstyle was the sacrifice that most women had to make in order to look good. It might sound stupid, but since they haven’t had the time, neither the money sometimes to go every day to the hair salon, they were sleeping on a chair, if they wanted to have their hair perfect the second day also.

We would call it very weird, but what we don’t know is the fact that in that time, there were no hand-held, and the women had to stay for hours under a very big hairdry and even sleep with rollers in their hair, in order to keep their look perfect. What a peculiar thing! In our days, we can have a look similar as in the’60 only in an half of hour! And you don’t need to go to the hair saloon; you can do it yourself at home. If you are inventive, you can recreate the ’60 hairstyles!

Men Celebrity Hairstyle

When it comes to celebrity hairstyle most people think about women’ hairstyle although there are numerous male hairstyles that people would probably like to find out about. This is why in this article I am going to tell you about two of the most well known men celebrity hairstyles.

The first one is the hairstyle of Antonio Banderas. To get the same hairstyle you need thick and curly hair and the cut needs to be a variation of the men’ cut. You need a blunt fringe area over the forehead and at the ears the cut should be angled in order for the hair to half cover the ear.

The hair in the back and in the sides should be layered. The short layers should be of about 1 inch, while the long ones should be about 2 inches, increasing gradually. The top is the longest, up to 3 inches and the hair should be in uniform layers. Once you have the right haircut you should apply some leave-in conditioner and also some gel on your damp hair. Then dry the hair with a blow drier while finger combing it to add volume. Once you get the volume you want, you can leave the hair to dry on its own. In case you get too much volume simply mist the hair with water and then scrunch the hair.

The next hairstyle is the one of Collin Farrell. His haircut is also a variation of the usual men’s haircut. The only difference is that the fringes are longer. The sides and the back are cut shorter, about 1-2 inches at the bottom and leave longer layers as you move upwards. Continue with the same technique until you get to the fringes through the crown area. It is OK to use scissors and a razor or only a razor. To achieve the perfect style you should start by applying some leave-in conditioner and also a styling mousse called liquid wax.

Then dry your hair with the blow drier while you finger comb the hair to keep the strands separated. Don’t forget to direct the airflow upwards to achieve maximum volume. You don’t have to totally dry the hair. When it is almost done you should use your fingers to style the hair as you want it to stay. Then let the hair dry on its own. Once it is dry you should apply some strong-hold hairspray to add some extra hold.

I really hope that you like these men celebrity hairstyles and that you will give them a chance. Naturally you can’t try both of them because as I have mentioned before, for the first hairstyle you must have thick and curly hair and in case you have it you can’t create the second hairstyle because you won’t be able to get the right look. Still you might end up that you may like. I think this is why it is important to experiment with hairstyles because you can never know what you will find.
