As you can see, there are two types of traditional wedding costumes. White, with a strange kind of hats or colorful, mostly with red and golden predominating. Even the shoes are traditional: those kind of flip-flops with platforms, wore with a certain type of socks. The traditional wedding costume is as complicated as the traditional kimono is. It consists of many parts, which have to be dressed in a specific order.
Moreover, the hair must be done according to the ritual: a specific updo. The make-up is done using a white-ish foundation and a vivid red lipstick. Also, a black eyeliner is mandatory, to outline the eyes, and we all know the beauty of Japanese eyes. The contrast between true red lipstick, blackest black eyeliner and pale white foundation is strong and appropriate for the whole wedding outfit.
