Disney superstar Miley Cyrus has gorgeous long brown locks, which she usually leaves down and casually curled for public appearances. Occasionally she'll pull her hair back into an elegant updo – as she did for the Oscars – which helps to show off whichever dress she's wearing that evening.
Miley's formal hairstyles are all excellent choices for elegant prom hairstyles for long hair. Poor Miley doesn't go to a regular school, so she'll probably never attend a prom; it's more likely she's come to think of the red carpet as her own prom.
At the 2009 Academy Awards, Miley gathered her hair in to this curly, low bun, with her growing-out bangs framing her face. Any hairstylist should be able to do this with a curling iron and plenty of bobby pins.
At the Grammy Awards, Miley chose to show off more of her perfectly-curled mane in an elegant, partly-plaited style (note the soft French braids at the sides of her head) that she later took down for her performance with Taylor Swift.
At the CMA Awards last year, Miley pulled her hair into a side bun with curly tendrils hanging down. It looked like a formal, funky ponytail. The trick to pulling this look off? Curling your hair so that it looks elegant without appearing overdone.
At the Golden Globes, Miley's hair was styled into a half-up, half-down hairstyle that would be a perfect prom hairstyle for long hair. The tendrils that were pulled back from Miley's face were tied or pinned down beneath a layer of Miley's hair for an extra-smooth look.

Celebrity Dark Hairstyles
Although there are a lot of people who think that blonde hair is the best choice to make, there are some others that think that the darker hairstyles are more advantageous and they wouldn’t change that. The truth is that the color of hair that looks good on you depend on numerous things, but the most influential ones are the skin tone and the color of the eyes. There are a lot of articles written about how to decide whether a hair color is right for you or not. In this article I am going to tell you about some celebrity dark hairstyles that you might want to know about.
The first one is a hairstyle worn by Jenna Ushkowitz that is a curly one. To steal her style you should start by applying some texturizing mousse on dry and unwashed hair and then comb the hair through. Leave some time for the product to dry before you start styling. Use a curling iron to create some loose and messy curls. You can achieve this by twisting the iron in different directions. You should curl only the bottom half of the hair. Apply some flexible hairspray on the curls and apply some shine serum as well to provide the hairstyle with a glossy look. To give a romantic touch to the hairstyle you should run the hair over your shoulder.
Another hairstyle that might interest you is the one that could have been seen sported by Jessica Lowndes. This is a feathered ponytail hairstyle that reminds you of the 80’s. To get the hairstyle done you should remember that it is best to have unwashed hair. First you should spritz the hair with shine spray and comb the hair to remove any tangled parts. Part the hair in the center and pull the hair onto one side (the one that you prefer or you think looks best on you) and then tie it into a ponytail. To create that fluffy look you should tease the hair starting at the roots until you think it is fluffy enough. Once you are done with the teasing you should put some pomade on your fingers and rub them through the end of the ponytail to get the right look.
The last hairstyle that I am going to write about is the one of Kim Kardashian. This hairstyle also works best with unwashed hair. You should start by applying styling mousse on the hair and then brush the hair back. Every top layer should be brought back just like you were creating a half updo and secure the strands in place at the back with the help of some bobby pins. The rest of the hair should be curled using a curling iron. To finish the hairstyle you should spritz some hair gel on the curls and tousle them to create a modern look.
These celebrity dark hairstyles are easy to create and they are great for a night out or just a night with friends.
