The peak of popularity of this style was during the 1970’s but you would be amazed how many people are still having it, so we can’t say that it is old-fashioned, on the contrary, it is gaining more and more popularity even in our days.
I have to note that if your hair is very fine, then probably this hairstyle isn’t the right one for you, because it can damage your hair since to create this style razors are used instead of scissors. Besides this little problem, almost anybody can have such a style, but the person who made it really popular in these times is Meg Ryan. She can be seen many times with shag.
I think that it looks very good on her, because this style emphasizes the eyes and she has beautiful blue eyes. In my opinion it would be a crime to hide them behind hair.
