Manicures & Pedicures In Ocean Shores WA
Ocean Shores is a relatively small town of about 4,000 residents located in Grays Harbor County in the state of Washington, USA. Although its size,
it is quite well-known for being a popular tourists’ target. There are many outside activities that can be done here, like biking, birding, fishing, playing golf, hiking, horseback riding, kiting or practicing water sports. In order to be able to fulfill the tourists’ requests, there are hotels, inns and spas.
In this article I will pass over talking about all these attractions, instead I will write about a topic that will interest mostly the ladies, but not only.
In the town of Ocean Shores you have a relatively limited number of options to choose from when it comes to deciding where to get your nails done. I have done a little research regarding manicures & pedicures in Ocean Shores, WA and I have found a few places that I would like you to know about.
The first place that I would like to tell you about is Surfside Nails & Spa. As the name suggests, they provide services regarding manicure and pedicure as well. One of the services they offer is called Essential Pedicure which includes feet massage, exfoliation of the skin, hot paraffin wax treatment and nail polishing with a polish that they say to be natural. All this costs $ 40. Another service called The Greatest Pedicure consists of Essential Pedicure plus hot paraffin treatment and a short foot reflexology treatment. The time needed for this treatment is 75 minutes and the price is $ 90.
Their services regarding fingernails include soaking in warm water, hand massage, cuticle care, nail detailing and polishing with natural nail polish for $ 30. If you wish to have hot paraffin wax treatment you will have to pay $ 45. Not only the ladies are taken care of at this spa, men can also have a nail treatment for $ 30. Children can also have their fingernails done for $ 15 and also for the same amount of money they can have a pedicure as well.
Another place you can have your nails done is at Nails by Marjorie. This place has got good ratings and it is said to be professional.
At Salon Maude besides your nails, you can have your hair done as well. This salon offers to their costumers other services too, such as facial treatments, acupuncture, perms and massages.
When a tourist goes to a new place it’s not a good idea to go home in a worse shape than when he left home, so it might be nice to have your nails taken care of too. Visiting a salon can be very relaxing and useful at the same time.
To be perfectly honest, we can’t say that there are a lot of options regarding manicures & pedicures in Ocean Shores, WA, but I am sure that at these places you will find professionals that know how to get their job done, so you will be satisfied with the end result.

You have straight hair and you are ready for an updo or “long hair” service and you go to a full service salon and what – they don’t offer “long hair” service. Guess its not so full service after all. So you go to another beautician and they don’t know what to do either. Why is that? Some of the reasons hairstylists don’t offer “long hair” or updo service is because:
None of their clients have long hair
Never learned how
Takes too long
Learned, tried it, but got out of practice and forgot
Too confusing
To the hairstylist, watching is easy. But when you are actually doing the work, it becomes confusing. It’s hard for a hairstylist to get and keep clients. If you are able to offer total hair services, including long hair, then you’ll be keeping new clients instead of sending them away. One way to help you get over some of the points listed above is to practice on a wig or mannequin. When you are in-between appointments, this will offer you practice to gain confidence and allows you to display your work to your customers.
If you are good at long hair, then you need to be the hairstylist that your competitors send their customers to. Advertise that you do long hair. There are plenty that don’t do long hair and this approach may get you the client list you need.
Let the bridal shops know you are available, along with the formal dress shops. Girls going to prom always want fancy hairstyles. Offer your services free to the bridal show as a promotion for your business. This helps you gain more updo customers and helps the bridal shop. Win-win.
You can also create a photo album of the mannequins you have been practicing on, or on customers. This will give prospective customers your ability and creativity level. Another idea is to work with a clothing store on their special event or sale days – and offer your services to attract customers. You can make these books up inexpensively with a digital camera and color copies. Have them bound with some of your business cards and ask if you can display them at the bridal shops.
Complimentary cards are very good, too. You can offer a discount on the back of the card. When a client gets their hair done, then give them some cards to hand out when they are asked where they got such a cute hairstyle. This works especially well at high schools before proms and dances. As always, if they don’t need long hair services, they will probably pass the card onto a friend.
How much should you charge or expect to pay for long hair or updo services? Well, its different all over the country, but in general, the price should be at least $ 5 over the normal hairstyle whether it’s a shampoo and blowdry. Be prudent in your pricing as if you get a client that will only require 15 minutes for a braid or a quick updo, then you may not want to charge more.
