Mehndi (henna) Tattos

Arabs chose to put large flowery mehndi tatto designs on their hands and feet. Indians preferred to make fine lines in each henna/mehndi tattoo. They painted their hands, forearms, feet and shins with lacy henna/mehndi designs. As the inhabitants of the Middle East began to trade with Europeans, the stain created by henna powder became familiar to some Europeans. Then as other Europeans traveled to all four corners of the globe, those traveling Europeans, some of whom had become familiar with the henna/mehndi designs, met Polynesians who wore a darker and more permanent skin design-a tattoo. That meeting paved the way for creation of the henna/mehndi tattoo.

Although the Polynesian-style tattoo last much longer than the henna/mehndi tattoo, not every person wants to have a permanent design on his or her skin. Many people like to have the ability to remove a tattoo, much like a woman can remove make-up. Those people are eager to purchase the henna/mehndi tattoo kits, kits available at various sites on the Internet.

Such kits include stencils, design books, transfer tattoos, bindis and faux body jewelry. They allow a person to put a blue or black tattoo on any part of his or her body. Such a tattoo remains on the skin for one to four weeks.

The makers of the henna/mehndi tattoo have sought to capitalize on the familiarity of hair dyes with henna. In the United States, the FDA has recognized the safety of such hair dyes. The FDA has not, however, given a nod of approval to the selling of henna/mehndi tattoos.

How to Improve Your Micro Braids

Micro+Braids+4.JPGMicro braids are fun to have in your hair, and are meant to last for a long time. However, over time they start to become damaged and can lead to serious effects if not taken care of properly. In fact, if not corrected you could lose a lot of your hair. Here are a few tips on how to improve your micro braids.

With micro braids it is necessary for you to wash your hair frequently, rubbing the scalp between the braids. It’s highly recommended that you use a dandruff shampoo rather than regular shampoo, because it eases your scalp as well as your hair. Another tip to improve your micro braids is to use a leave in conditioner frequently. This will keep the luster in your hair longer.

Try to not style it so much. Using any kind of heat, including a blow dryer, will damage your braids and have more chance of your hair becoming dead and frizzy. One of the most important ways to tell if you are at risk of damaging your hair and micro braids later on, is if you feel pain and discomfort while the process is taking place. This will not go away, and will have a constant pressure on your head making it more likely your hair will fall out.

There are also moisturizing sprays you can get to use on your braids while you have them. This is like watering plants, so you don’t want to over do it but you do need to get just enough.

Evenings have a charm of their own. As the sun settles over a hectic day, it’s time to unwind, in a party, or in a prom, or in a very personal engagement. It’s time to let imaginations run riot over the right dress, the right hairstyle, and the right accessories to steal the show. Your long, beautifully flowing hair can add a ravishing touch to your glam, and make you grab the entire focus in the evening turnout. All that your hair needs besides the usual care and nourishment is a head-turning hairstyling for that captivating aura. And, you can simply weave wonders with your long hair.

The first thing about hairstyling is marking your time. You may want glorious long tresses, but you’d definitely not want to be late for that appointment. So, keep some time at your disposal. You must also have your long hair washed clean and moisturized to look perfectly healthy.

Multiple ponytails can be quite interesting to start with. You need to get some brush, elastic bands, hair shine or hair spray. Divide your hair in the crown area into three parts and place them in three separate ponytails, with most of your hair left loose and flowing on the neck. Make sure you smoothen the frizz for a slicker look. If you want, you can diversify and put the three ponytails into one big ponytail and add some ribbon. For the sporty look, you can try to create as many ponytails as you like using multi-colored bands.

There can be other fascinating styles with the ponytail. Just pulling the hair into a low ponytail on the nape of the neck is one of the most beautiful ways of wearing long hair that exists. You can also try pulling the top layer of hair into a ponytail at the back of the head and leaving the rest loose. This style ‘cuts the cheeks’ of round face shapes and make them look all the more lovely.

Then there are the fabulous braids to give you the most electrifying, yet simple, hairstyles. Divide your hair into multiple strands and braid each one thinly, making sure you tie it up with an all-black elastic band for a more formal look or multi-colored bands for the more carefree look. You can use jeweled barrettes, or the butterfly designed ones for a touch of sophistication to your long evening hairstyle. Pin your hair on the side or get two sides of your hair and then pin them down in the middle of the crown using the barrettes. Let most of your hair flow at your back, and do not forget to brush them properly for that lustrous, shiny look.

Placing your hair on a high ponytail, just resting over the middle of the crown, can give you a regal look, and this works well for casual or very formal events in the evening. The trick is in the type of elastic used. You can even put your hair in ponytails and leave some curled strands on both sides to create a romantic look.

Another lovely and elegant way of wearing long hair for the evening is the classic bun style, pulled up onto the head and twisted around, and then pinned in place. You can also go for the braided bun, where the hair is braided and the braid is then coiled into a bun. There are two main styles in this category, the rounded bun with the start of the braid resting against the back of the head and wrapping the rest of the braid around it and placing the end under, or the flat coil bun starting with the end of the braid and coiling it around itself, holding it flat all the way. Just avoid making them heavy, and you’re ready for the evening extravaganza.
